Position index counting begins immediately after the decimal point. The leading integer 3 and the dot . are not included in the position count.

  • Position 1 contains the digit 1.
  • Position 2 contains the digit 4.
  • Position 3 contains the digit 1, and so on.

Match probability by sequence length

Longer sequences are less likely to appear inside a finite 2,000,000-digit search range.

This estimate treats Pi digits as evenly distributed. It is useful for interpreting search results, especially when an 8-digit birthday or longer sequence does not appear.

Why a sequence might not be found

If your search does not return a match, it is almost certainly due to probability or formatting. These quick checks usually help.
